Be the best Realtor online that you can be.
Get and Maintain a Blog
Having a blog is much like owning your own home, you can paint the walls any color you choose, tear down walls to make a bigger living room, or install that built in slide from your bed to the kitchen like you have always dreamed about. Your blog is where you can control anything. And it is also the best spot to represent yourself in the light you deserve. And though you can write about anything, I recommend keeping it limited to your vivid success stories in Real Estate, your progressive thoughts about the market and the trade, and the little fun things you do that make you a unique person. You don’t have to add a post every day, but one a week will let your readers know you care and that you are an active person and Realtor Also be sure to include images, photos, and videos, readers love that stuff.
Join an Existing Community
Don’t live in an online island, get out there and mingle with people! Joining an online community will help people connect with you and your content. There are many different online communities were home owners and Realtors connect and discuss trends in the market, best practices, and the future of Real Estate that you can be involved in. Again you don’t have to be in every forum thread, but being a part of a community can help establish your name as an online expert. Before you know it people will be coming to you for all their real estate needs.
Using Facebook, Twitter, and more
Social Media is much like leasing a house (or an apartment if you use Twitter) in that you are limited in what you can do. The structure is fixed, the color can’t be changed too much, and you can’t put in that slide you wanted, but it does have its benefits. Your lease is in a busy city of people hungry for information. It’s easier to meet and connect with new people interested in Real Estate, and refer them back to your blog and your work. You don’t have to create new posts for your Facebook and twitter, instead you can just add a catchy title and link to the post you have already done on your blog. Facebook makes it easier to keep in touch with former clients. A simple comment on another’s Facebook post will remind the client and show their friends that you are a Realtor who cares about the client.
The most important thing to remember is to post regularly and keep the content fresh. Using images and photos will always draw more attention than text alone. If you keep a healthy feed of posts and updates coming, and you will soon see nothing but positive words surrounding your name on any Google Search.
